Preparing for ADHD assessments

Once you have sent in your referral one of our team will call you to discuss the assessments and book a date, you will then receive an email of everything you need to prepare for the assessments.

To begin the process, we will ask for some background information. This will include completing a questionnaire around your full history, medical history, mental health and information around current concerns. We will also ask you to complete two mental health questionnaires.

Please request GP records and have any other professional involvement such as school reports, occupational therapy or speech and language reports and any other relevant documents ready for your assessment.

You will have chance before your assessment to answer any questions.

During your assessment

One of our assessors will meet you either virtually or face to face and have an in-depth discussion of your concerns in the format of a clinical interview, medical history and challenges and how ADHD may have presented during your life.

We use standardised assessment tools to explore your current traits of ADHD.

After your assessment

Following your assessment, your assessor will create a report to outline the outcome of assessment, what traits you are presenting with, and any recommendations for support.

This report will be shared with you within two weeks of your assessment and you will be given the opportunity to book a follow up appointment with our team to discuss anything you are unsure of and be offered signposting/further support resources.
